Feltech Win Business Installation of the Year for JCB Presentation Theatre at AV Awards

June 18 2013

We are delighted to announce that Feltech have won Business Installation of the Year at the 2013 AV Awards for the JCB Presentation Theatre.

The JCB Theatre in Rocester, Staffordshire is a truly integrated system on every level. With a capacity of 250 guests, the theatre is situated within the JCB visitors centre at their global headquarters along with ‘The Story of JCB’ museum and the base for factory tours.

The venue is used daily for a wide range of events, including dealer conferences, product launches and reveals, press conferences and presentations to visitors as part of the factory tour programme.

The objective of the Theatre upgrade was to create a broadcast quality system that could form the heart of the JCB communications operation, delivering an intelligent workflow and a robust platform for the team to produce events, reveals, outside broadcasts and films in a wide variety of languages with professional results, whilst reducing the carbon footprint of the venue.

Feltech’s Nevil Bounds commented “Direct communication, a ‘can-do’ attitude and transparency are essential with a complex project such as the JCB Theatre.  It was a delight to work with the JCB team and we are thrilled that Feltech’s hard work and dedication has been recognised tonight with such a prestigious award”.

Peter Marsland, Video Production Manager at JCB commented “At JCB we are very conscious of our eco credentials and we are doing a lot of work to reduce our energy consumption and carbon footprint so the move to LED lighting in the theatre has been a major contributor to that in that we’ve saved probably 75% of our energy bill in terms of lighting alone.  Having worked with Feltech I would definitely recommend them to other companies their project management skills is second to none and their technical expertise is fantastic.”

With guidePORT, your visitors learn more about your exhibition and exhibits than with other information systems, all with the greatest of ease and comfort. Because they do not have to hand-carry anything around with them, visitors always have both hands free.

There has recently been an important change in legislation that affects all those who use wireless microphones, in ear-monitoring and instrument systems.

Due to the digital switchover the frequencies that can be licenced for radio microphones have been changed.

The two bands affected are the 800MHz UHF band (TV Channels 61-69) and the higher frequency 2.6 Ghz band.
