UK Launch of Angelina Jolie's film "In the Land of Blood and Honey"
On May 29th 2012 British Foreign Secretary William Hague hosted an event in Whitehall to promote the campaign against sexual violence in conflict zones, joined by Special Envoy to the UN High Commissioner on Refugees, Ms Angelina Jolie.
The event was attended by a host of high profile guests and featured an advance screening of ‘In the Land of Blood and Honey’, Ms Jolie’s directorial debut which depicts the rape of Muslim and Croat women during the Bosnian War.
The event marked the establishment of a UK initiative aimed at increasing the number of prosecutions for sexual violence in conflicts across the world.
With just one weeks notice Feltech were asked to produce this high profile event on behalf of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office.

Given the gravity of the subject matter and limited time available Feltech designed an integrated solution which temporarily enhanced existing Foreign Office in house facilities. With this approach Feltech were able to create an informal presentation area for VIPs to gather and hear opening speeches, a cinema for 100 guests and a press conference suite in an economic and appropriate manner.
In addition Feltech facilitated the UK Host Broadcaster’s feed from Whitehall through to BT Tower to enable footage from the event to reach the world’s media.
The press conference facilities provided included PA systems, microphones and television lighting, with Feltech’s technical support team on hand to ensure everything ran smoothly.
In addition to William Hague and Angelina Jolie, key international VIPs also addressed the gathering including United States Ambassador Louis B. Susman, who spoke on behalf of Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and Margot Wallström, the UN special envoy on Sexual Violence in Conflict. Event attendees included distinguished guest Her Majesty Queen Noor of Jordan and The Right Honourable Lord Ashdown, High Representative for Bosnia and Herzegovina alongside members of the cast of “In the Land of Blood and Honey” Zana Marjanović, Vanessa Glodjo and Goran Kostić.
